Tom started his career in Buffalo New York in 1997 with First Union as a bank representative. He quickly decided that dealing directly with the borrower was where he knew he could make the biggest difference. In 1998 he moved to Greensboro to work for Ameriquest Mortgage as a Loan Officer. In 1999 he started at Greentree Financial until May of 2000 when he opened his own company, Hometown Mortgage. He experienced great success as he built 4 North Carolina offices with over 40 Loan Officers and was regarded as a top 5 Mortgage Broker in the state North Carolina.

In the 2008 housing crisis, his company was devastated as were many others, and eventually he had to close the doors in 2009. He then went on to work for Freedom Mortgage where he recruited and oversaw 3 offices as well as originating loans. With all the changes that came after the 2008 housing crisis and the Dodd-Frank legislation in 2010 he decided he needed a break from the mortgage industry. In 2011 he took on new adventures and after numerous years away from the mortgage business he knew in order to be happy he had to get back into helping people achieving the American Dream of homeownership. Which brings him to Mortgage Financial Group where he started in 2017 to the present.
